Intrusion Detection Defined
A security service that monitors and analyzes system events to find and provide real-time or near real-time attempt warnings to access system resources in an unauthorized manner. This is the detection of break-ins or break-in attempts, by reviewing logs or other information available on a network.
What We Provide
VegasT1.com offers a fully automated intrusion detection service utilizing Cisco Secure Intrusion Detection Systems. Our intrusion detection system examines every packet destined for your network and prevents unauthorized and malicious entry. Our system compares every packet to an updated list of known attacks in a signature file. If a packet is determined to be malicious, it is assigned a pre-determined threat level. A threat level of LOW simply logs the traffic in a report, a threat level of MEDIUM causes a TCP traffic reset to be sent to the offending host, a threat level of HIGH generates an automated access list on our router blocking the offending host for thirty (30) minutes.
Our intrusion detection system is also updated with Virus signatures which will search network traffic for traces of Klez, Netsky, SQL Slammer, and other malicious worm viruses, as a first level of defense in protecting your network.
At the end of every month, VegasT1.com will provide you with a printed report of attacks on your network which will include the most frequent types of attacks, the top sources of attacks, and the top destinations of attacks on your network.
